Mission, Values, & History

Our Mission

PUC Preparatory School is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian learning community called to meet the needs of all students by opportunities and experiences that encourage academic growth, leadership, and service in preparation for college, for life, for heaven.

Prep is accredited by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Prep has been a member of WASC since 1965 and in 2017 received a six-year accreditation term with a mid-term visit.

Established as a demonstration school, Prep serves as an on-campus laboratory for the Education Department at Pacific Union College.

Our Students

Prep strives to create a community of students who:

  1. Engage as learners seeking opportunities for growth

  2. Think critically and solve problems as individuals and in teams

  3. Communicate thoughts and ideas clearly in written, spoken, and visual media

  4. Exercise their rights, contributing to positive change in communities local and global

  5. Explore and develop their interests and gifts while affirming them in others

  6. Apply Biblical principles to make informed and ethical life choices that create balance in physical, mental, and spiritual well-being

  7. Experience an ongoing, developing relationship with God that fosters love for self and others

Our desire at PUC Prep is for each student to experience an education that goes beyond the classroom to focus on growing the whole person.
