Summer Reading Options

These are links to sites offering reading lists. Students and their parents looking for ways to further enhance the educational experience are invited to explore these options. Of course, Prep cannot be responsible for the content of outside sites, and all options must be assessed for suitability to the needs of specific students and their families. What is deemed appropriate for one student might not be suitable for another person.

  • Summer Reading from Hornbook (includes children's books, but also has a list for grades 7 & up)
  • Washington Post, "Summer Reading List for High School Students"
  • Boston.com article about reading lists, "Reading lists speak volumes in schools"
  • Mrs. Dibben also has lists entitled "The 250 literary greats" (from the London Times) and "English Graduate Reading List." Ask if you would like a hard copy.
  • Many public library websites have reading lists. Try the Seattle Public Library's lists.
